Iraqi Kurdistan Educational System
Compulsory education under the Kurdistan Region law applies to children from the age of 6 to the age of eighteen and it's government funded. There is also an optional pre-school education system for children from the age of four and five.
The first six years is a primary education from the age of 6 to eleven. Obligatory subjects are: Kurdisch, English, Arabic, arithmetic, art, geography, histoy, science, social structures, religion.
Secondary schools consists of two cycles of three years. After the first cycle students can choose to continue the next three years in acadimic preparatory, which leads to universty, commercial, industrial, agricultural and arts, which leads to inistitutes.
The Higher Educational System consists of Technical Institutes, last two years and leads to technical diplomas, and academic universities which last four years and leads to B. Sc
