Dubai will host large Kurdistan Region Economic Forum

In the hope of fostering economic development in Iraq's Kurdistan Region and attractiong more investors to the booming economy in the semi-autonomous northern Iraqi region, an economic forum will be held in Dubai in two months time, says the Kurdistan News Agency.

 

Shilan Khanaqa, the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) representative to the United Arab Emirates told AKnews that the two-day conference will be held under the auspices of the emirate of Dubai and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

She did not reveal the exact date of the conference, according to the news agency. However Khanaqa did claim officials from Kurdistan Region, including the ministers for tourism, trade and industry, heads of investment boards and chambers of commerce, as well as a considerable number of Kurdish businessmen will attend the conference.

 

The conference is expected to spotlight the high security and stability in Kurdistan to attract more investors, the KRG representative to the UAE added.
